Today I have the great pleasure of being the host on the 12th day of the Virtual Blog Tour of Hay House author Dr Roy Martina, whose book Emotional Balance: the path to inner peace and harmony comes to Amazon on Tuesday March 15, 2011.

Yesterday, Roy visited Amethyst Wyldfyre at http://amethystwyldfyre.wordpress.com/2011/01/17/virtual-blog-tour-stop-exploring-emotional-balance-with-dr-roy-martina and

http://www.theenergyjourney.com/a-virtual-conversation-with-dr-roy-martina-on-emotional-balance where they talked about shifting our energies to a higher vibration and one’s energy.

Today, I’d like to share with you a recent interview I had with Roy when I got to ask him some questions on being worthy, our emotions and spirituality. I hope you enjoy it.

Paula Tarrant: Consciously we are aware that we engage in acts of self-sabotage. What steps can we take to break this pattern and begin to create more of a sense of worthiness about having what we want?

Roy Martina:

Step 1 is to understand that sabotage is a natural design of the mind. It is the way we are created. The Divine intention is that we first accumulate a lot of baggage and garbage so we really descend in our humanness. We are here to discover who we are not, so being perfect Divine beings; we have lots of frustration in our humanness that we are not perfect as we deep inside know that we are. This will force us to start sooner or later with exploration for how to get out of this frustrating cage of misperception that we call the human experience and find ourselves.

Step 2 is to know that we can change the subconscious mind and get it aligned with our conscious mind. We are by design born into a schizophrenic mind system where the art of consciousness is only 20% in control and 80% of our reactions are driven by a part we have no control of and often does not agree with us. We are born as a duality personality disorder. We have natural conflicts between conscious and subconscious and the subconscious is pulling the strings.

Step 3 is becoming aware of our sabotage patterns and starting to discover from who they are, from whom are we copying these patterns?  Then comes the part of letting go, and detaching from the parts that are not ours by using the techniques in my book.

Paula Tarrant: In your book you make a distinction between our emotions and our feelings. Aren’t feelings just the expression of our emotions?

Roy Martina: Basically feelings are the sensations in the body. So technically you cannot say: I feel angry. What you can say, I feel this heat in my head, my breathing is faster, I feel a tension in my abdomen and I have these aggressive thoughts and all this energy inside. These sensations (feelings) we have labelled anger. Another person with exactly the same feelings calls them excitement. The other reason is that there are no pure emotions. All feelings are a mixture of several emotions and we label just the most dominant one. Under the anger we may feel sadness, under that we may feel hurt, under that we may feel rejected.

Paula Tarrant: What can we do to experience spirituality in everyday life?

Roy Martina: My definition is this: the spiritual path is the path where we learn consciously or subconsciously to stay connected to our Authentic self. When we are connected, we experience who we are. We are the pure expression of love. We have 3 selves: the Authentic Divine Self that is incarnating and using the body as a vehicle to experience human life. Then we have a layer that is created by our experiences and education and is basically a survival mechanism. We react to any situation that is threatening to us that we perceive as danger or rejection (not being loved or accepted). This part is often referred to as ‘ego”. Then we have our False Projected self. This is what we want to show to the world and how we want to be perceived. Some people even start to believe they are the false self, especially if they have been to too many motivational seminars and do a lot of power self-talk and self-motivation. There are only 3 keys to spirituality:

  1. To know when you are disconnected (consciously or subconsciously)
  2. To have a technique or system to reconnect yourself back to your Core Authentic self
  3. To learn how to stay vigilant and connected. When you can permanently maintain the connection and are the pure expression of your unique loving self you are called enlightened. How you get there nobody cares.

  • The movement in consciousness that you speak of is one of the Big Whys that is at the foundation of why I do what it is I do. The awakening to awareness and desire for connection is the catalyst for embarking on the inner journey to our outer destiny.

Loved how Roy distilled the essential keys to spirituality!

    Abundant Blessings!

  • Hello Paula; I am involved in Roy’s campaign also.

I liked the explanation of how to differentiate feelings and emotions.

In reference to Spirituality, there is a movement in consciousness in the world towards unity and oneness at this time. 1 More people are realizing their separation and wanting to do something about it. 2. People are awakening to their emotional reactions and wanting to take charge and heal these reactions. 3. A desire for Divine connection is arising.

    In Gratitude,
